Techniques loved by pro broadcast filmmakers

This is an in-depth creative course on the art of memorable film editing.

In the pro broadcast world there are two types of editors: Operators and Editors.

An operator is an editing software expert who understands the intricacies of codecs and the export parameters needed for broadcast. It’s the technical side of video that get operators' juices flowing. Very often these software ninjas are not particularly creative. Limited creativity is needed to be a successful video operator.

Even though I’ve worked in broadcast TV as an editor for almost 40 years, and I've have won prestigious editing awards in New York and Cannes, I’ve never needed to know the technical stuff video editing operators use in their work—and neither do you! The reason for that is simple:

An editor is a totally different species to an operator.

Video editing requires a special kind of creative wizardry, taught in great detail in this comprehensive editing course.

So, I now have a question for you….

Are looking for a course that teaches all the technical stuff regarding video production?

Or. . .

Do you want to become a creatively intuitive, clever video editor, who can produce amazing content from your or other people's footage?

If you answered yes to the second question, then the CREATIVE VIDEO EDITING course is for you.

After 30 well-structured, professionally presented lessons, and four quizzes/tasks, you will have all the tools and techniques needed to create videos that will capture your audience from the first to the final frame. With so much power in your hands, you can truly change your world.

Amazing course, don't even hesitate! I've learned so much from all of his courses. I've started the course aiming to improve the quality of my videos for a Youtube channel on traveling. Andrew St.Pierre White gave me a professional vision, so from the bottom of my heart thank you! I feel a step closer to success, now that I know what I've been doing wrong.

R.L. Bartz

Fantastic. Andrew reminds me of some professors I had in college who were well respected and fun to be in class with. He does a great job of teaching a very complex skillset, and while the art of editing and storytelling is definitely tough to master, I feel I gained way more confidence and knowledge for crafting a compelling story, after watching this course.

Emmanuel Mutisya

I honestly thought this course would be a regular beginner course but boy was I wrong!

The instructor is very engaging and his illustrations are superb!

Thank you so much for sharing such vital wisdom. You can be sure the success of my career will be greatly attributed to this course.

Still Not convinced?

Okay, I have some more questions for you. What is your goal?

Understand the rules broadcast professionals use when editing TV shows?

Improve the quality of your videos so your audience can't get enough?

Make your transition from still photography to video easy?

Get more views, shares, and likes on your YouTube channel?

Elevate your technically fine videos to captivating stories that get noticed?

Then you really need this course.

Things you'll learn

✓ To attract, grab, and hold onto your audience.

✓  To make your edits seamless and integrated.

To select music, while avoiding the dangers of bad music choices.

How to avoid the cringe-worthy traps amateurs often fall into.

Mastering these skills will make your editing experience easy and intensely creative. You can become a great filmmaker.

Victor Fontane

Absolutely fantastic! You can tell the instructor has many years of experience and knows what he is talking about. Great, straight to the point delivery of the material that is easy to understand. Brilliant!

Marco Thomi

Wonderful course. I had learned a lot of useful stuff. The course is entertaining with the examples and of course of Andrew as a person itself.

Chris Parr

There is a lot of valuable information here. Editing can be a subjective target but having the "why's" behind your edit decisions builds more of a solid foundation. I have been editing for 20+ years and got so much out of this.

Andrew St Pierre White brings almost 40 years of experience as a broadcast professional to this course. Not one to boast, Andrew has won numerous international editing awards. Included in these are Cannes Film Festival: Gold Award for Editing; New York TV: Silver Award for Editing; Louries TV Awards South Africa: Grand Prix Editing.

During his decades as a broadcast professional, he’s edited numberless TV commercials, nine documentary series, many corporate videos, and some TV dramas. His work has been broadcast on major channels and networks on six continents.

His YouTube channel clocks up more than 12 million views a year—and growing.

Honestly, you could not find a better person to partner with in your learning editing journey.

  • A broadband Internet connection,
  • A laptop or desktop computer.
  • Editing software that can edit multi-layered audio tracks. Manipulating multi-layered audio is fundamental to good editing. Any edit software with multi-layer capability, able to handle your source footage, will do.
  • A basic understanding of video editing. As this is not a software course, you will need a working knowledge of your software, how to ingest media from your camera card, and how to set up a timeline to begin editing. As long as you know the basics, everything will be easy to follow and understand.
  • Although what I teach is performed using computer software, this is NOT a software course. Instead of how to use the software, I teach what to do with the software.
  • An ongoing project would be an advantage so you can practice some of the techniques.
  • A spirit for learning something new and intensely creative.

This is by far the best editing course I have taken. Andrew's commercial examples are simply amazing. I would describe myself as an advanced non-professional editor. I am absolutely sure this course will help me achieve those professional results in my projects that I have been looking for.

Elvir Muhic

Absolutely brilliant course, I learned so much. This is my third course from Mr. Andrew, so I can be free to say that I considers him to be my true teacher in this area:-) The way of presenting different subjects, the examples, it is so good that i can't believe we can have such quality courses for such a small price.
